Fourth of July Weekend

We had a great fourth of July! It was great to have family here with us. On July 3 Elaine and Paul came out and on Saturday Alinda flew in from Texas. We all went into San Francisco and spent the day. We walked all over, saw Wicked, ate dinner, rode the trolly and ended the day with fireworks over the bay!

Wicked!

Alinda, Paul, Jay and me all got tickets to see Wicked. It was a great performance! Grandma Shelley was very kind to stay with Kayla so we could go!

We watched the fireworks over the bay. It was a good show, but not half as good as the Staduim of Fire. There were billions of people. It was absolutly nuts! I don't think I've ever seen so many people at once.

We ate dinner at a really yummy Thai place!

On July 3rd Paul drove out to visit for the weekend and suprised us by bringing Elaine! We were excited to have family for the weekend! We went to a stake picnic in Oakland and then went to a patriotic performance on the temple grounds.

Layfayette Reservoir

Posted by PicasaOn July 3rd we spent the afternoon at the reservoir. We ate our lunch out on the lake and had a great time! All children under eight have to wear a life jacket. This was the smallest size they had. We thought it was pretty cute on Kayla!

Mt. Diablo

After going to the Heather Farm Garden we went to the top of Mt. Diablo. They call it a mountain here but it was more of a big hill to us. The elevation at the top was three thousand something. We began at an elevation of 156ft so I guess the climb was pretty significant. The crazy part was all the bikers going to the top. Talk about a good workout! The view was nice from the top. On a really clear day you can see San Francisco.

Heather Farm Gardens

The first Saturday we were here in California we spent the day discovering the area in which we live. We first went to the Heather Farm Garden. It was a pretty place with lots of beautiful flowers and trails along with a nice big park.
